JEUX DE GÉNIE DU QUÉBEC (ENGINEERING GAMES)

Roche is sponsoring the 22nd edition of the Jeux de Génie du Québec (engineering games), being held from January 3 to 7, 2012 at the École de technologie supérieure in Montréal. This year’s theme is civilizations. SYLVAIN DELASABLONNIÈRE ELECTED VICE-CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF ENTREPRISE RESTIGOUCHE

Sylvain Delasablonnière, Director of Roche Atlantic, was appointed Vice-Chairman of Entreprise Restigouche’s board of directors for a second three-year term. Entreprise Restigouche is a non-profit organization governed by a board made up of 15 of the region’s business and community leaders. As one of the 15 economic development agencies in New Brunswick that make up the province’s Entreprise Network, its mission is to offer a coordinated economic development approach that unites all partners on a regional level.  www.restigouche.ca

FONDATION DE LA MAISON MICHEL SARRAZIN

Roche is the proud partner of the annual cruise organized by the Fondation de la Maison Michel-Sarrazin, held on September 6, 2011. The foundation's mission is to meet the exclusive financial needs of Maison Michel-Sarrazin, its day centre and educational and research activities. In order to continue offering free care and services to people at the end of their lives (and their loved ones), it aims to raise around $3 M annually. www.michel-sarrazin.ca

 

BAL DE L'ÉMERAUDE TO BENEFIT FONDATION SOURDINE

Roche is proud to support the 22nd edition of Bal de l’Émeraude to benefit Fondation Sourdine, held on October 29, 2011. Fondation Sourdine is a non-profit organization that collects funds to support the École oraliste de Québec pour enfants sourds (oral interpretation school for deaf children), the only school in North America to focus exclusively on oral interpretation, as well as being Francophone. www.sourdine.qc.ca
 

"PIGNON BLEU" HOUSE

Roche has joined forces with the Fondation GDG and the Fondation communautaire du Grand Québec to support the development of a roof-top garden and back yard area at the Pignon Bleu house.  The roof-top garden will not only allow Pignon Bleu to grow fresh produce for its children’s meal programs, but will also provide it with an ideal opportunity to impart healthy eating habits. The food grown in this urban garden will be used to prepare boxed lunches that will be distributed throughout the summer to children in need who are enrolled at eight neighbourhood playgrounds in central Quebec City. www.pignonbleu.org 

 

MARITIME CELEBRATIONS IN RIMOUSKI

The “Cap à l’Est, le fleuve en fête” celebration held in Rimouski July 8 to 10, 2011, is being sponsored by Roche. This maritime celebration features a program of festive, nautical activities in connection with the river. Roche’s 30 plus years of maritime engineering expertise makes the company particularly aware of the marine environment, as well as the St. Lawrence River. Contributing to this festival is a way for Roche to help boost awareness and recognition of the region.  www.cap-a-lest.com

  

MATHIEU-LAFOND FOUNDATION 

On June 18, Denis Pelland of Pasquin St-Jean & Ass. will participate as team member and captain in the 4th edition of the small boat race “Course des Petits Bateaux” to raise funds for the Mathieu-Lafond Foundation. About ten teams will launch and test the boats they build on the day of the race with a pre-determined set of materials. The objective is to raise $130,000 to be distributed among volunteer organizations that help at risk youth. OSQ ANNOUNCES ITS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY

Minister of Culture Christine St-Pierre announced the sustainable development policy initiated by the Quebec City symphony orchestra, which as she noted is a  policy that is in step with the Agenda 21 action plan. The policy was developed by Roche Ltd, Consulting Group, with Martin Bérubé as project leader, demonstrating that our approach to sustainable development is applicable to both industrial and cultural organizations. The work performed by Roche on this policy has helped consolidate our position as a leader in sustainable development.

 

TOUR OF THE GASPÉ
